My colleague from work was talking about books he intended to buy. So I have said.
But bro internet is full of free, surprisingly good and fun places to get some info about what is happening in software development.
- tutorials on spring.io: how to write RESTful, HATEOAS Web Services (with different JavaScript tools: jQuery, AngularJS, …)
- Introductory tutorials in Code School pages: Angular.js, jQuery, mentioned earlier Git, regexp, Chrome web developer tools
- courses on Coursea, apart from usuall programming stuff like algorithms (by Robert Sedgewick so this is awsome indeed), we have very cool stuff about Scala/> and reactive programming by Martin Odersky himself
- Mongo DB course beginning and intermediate
- Hadoop, and others bigdata, streams, cloud with focus on IBM solutions
If one of them will look interesting one may read official documentation and done some coding (preferably with friends) to really grasp stuff 🙂
